NCF Update 02/03/24

Happy Saturday church family,

I’m thanking the Lord for the wonderful rain we had last night. How refreshing it is to the land! Even more so, I pray that He will rain down His grace upon our land. The souls of many have grown dry. Even many who know Christ are dry and in need of His refreshing. So today my prayer is this, “Lord, refresh your people in an experience of your grace which matches what we have learned about You.”

You are loved friends! I always look forward to being with you on Sundays. Though His grace is always with us as is His presence, there is a special grace and a special experience of His presence which we have when we gather in person as New Covenant Fellowship. As the Lord Himself declares to us in ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:20‬, “where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” We will worship together at Serve as usual at 10:45am.

We plan to continue our workshop series at 9:45am. Come early if you would like to be a part of our exploration and practice together of daily Word and Spirit rhythms. Our particular emphasis for tomorrow will be the blessings of prayer rhythms.

Wednesday February 14th is Ash Wednesday which begins the season of Lent on the church calendar. The beauty of this season is the opportunity it lends us to pause and focus on the restorative work of Christ in our lives. Those who choose to fast in some way place a clear signpost within ourselves. Whenever we may have the sense of being deprived of that thing, we pause and remember our even deeper need for Christ and to be conformed to His ways. He is good!

We intend to begin a weekly Wednesday prayer meeting on February 14th at 6:30pm. Yes, we do realize that it is Valentine’s Day, but we have a feeling that good old Pastor Valentinus would probably be okay with us dedicating his memorial day to prayer. Plus, we can always do our date nights on a different evening which means we get to avoid the crowds. That’s a win all around! 😄

May the Lord’s grace and peace be with you today friends! May you rest well in Him. See you in the morning.
