Church Update 09/19/26

Good afternoon church family,

I am looking forward to gathering together with you as we celebrate the Lord’s Day tomorrow. Join us in the morning at 9:30 as we continue Part 2 of our prophetic ministry workshop that we started with Matthew and Dawn last week. This will be in the sanctuary. We will return to our normal Fellowship Groups schedule next Sunday. Worship Service will be at 10:45 as usual.

Our focus passage for church tomorrow is Acts 5:1–11. This is the passage about Ananias and Sapphira, and boy, is it a challenging passage for us. I think the Lord has a lot to teach us about how serious He is about holiness, and how easy it is for a Christian to be drawn astray by the devil if we are not careful to remain firmly in Christ. I believe we will be challenged and encouraged through this passage as we look into it together. It is good for us to have a sense of reverence and awe when we think about who the Holy Spirit is and the power that He carries both on our behalf and also for the sake of justice and righteousness in the world.

Tomorrow is our Fellowship Meal day, so don’t forget to bring something to share with everyone if you are able. All are invited to join us for lunch after church. We will also be having a baptism. Samuel Burke recently gave his life to Jesus and wants us all to celebrate with him, which, of course, we will!

As many of you know, we have a food pantry. Each Sunday, when you walk into church, you will notice there is a shopping basket there. That basket is for food donations. If you would like to help us stock our food pantry, you can bring non-perishables and put them in that basket. There are several people who are part of our church community who could use some help from time to time. We have some who need help regularly. It would be a great blessing if the Lord would lead many of our church members to be a part of giving to this ministry. If you find yourself needing help, please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of our deacons. We want to make sure everyone in our immediate community is taken care of.

May the grace and peace of the Lord be with each one of you. I love and appreciate you, and it will be a joy to be with you in the morning.

In His steps,

Pastor Nick
