Church Update 05/23/26

Good afternoon, church family,

We had a wonderful time at the Bethany 66 Festival today! Thanks to everyone who came out and interacted with people. I know that several gospel conversations were had, and that many people were prayed for. Jacob prayed for one of the employees at Papa Angelo’s, and he received an immediately noticeable healing of a back problem he had been having. Another one of our longtime customers at Serve indicated an interest in being baptized. It is always wonderful when we have the opportunity to represent Christ in our community. We thank the Lord for His kindness!

Join us for fellowship groups at 9:30 am and for worship at 10:45 am. Our focus Bible passage for tomorrow comes from Luke 4, as we consider the anointing of Christ our Mediator and what His example means for us. I believe the Lord has wonderful encouragement planned for us from this text.

May the grace and peace of the Lord rest on you as you walk through the remainder of this beautiful Saturday. As we look forward to Memorial Day, we remember those who have served our country, but especially those who never made it home. There is a great multitude of those who have paid the ultimate price to keep the United States free. We appreciate them, acknowledging their sacrifice. We also remember the lives of families who have been impacted by the loss of soldiers who have fought for this country. We pray for them, and we hope they will experience God’s grace and peace this weekend.

Please remember Suzi Frost and her family in prayer. Suzi’s father passed from this world just a few days ago. We are asking that the Lord will be with them during this time, and that He will grant them supernatural wisdom as they work through all of the details relating to her dad’s estate and services.

As always, I encourage us to be praying for one another as the Lord brings us to mind. It is often the case that when the Lord brings a brother or sister in the Lord to memory, He is prompting us to pray for that person. I’m looking forward to being with you in the morning as we gather for the Lord’s Day.

In His steps,

Pastor Nick

Luke 4:18-19 NASB20 — “THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME,

BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO BRING GOOD NEWS TO THE POOR.

HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO CAPTIVES,

AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND,

TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED, TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD.”
