Good afternoon church family,
I hope you are experiencing the grace and peace of the Lord on this beautiful Saturday. Tomorrow is the Lord’s day, and we have the joy of gathering together as we do each week. I hope you will make it a priority to be with our church community in the morning.
Our Sunday School classes will meet at 9:30am as usual, with our worship service following at 10:45am. Tomorrow is a special day for our children’s ministry as they will be having a Happy Birthday Jesus party during the Childrens ministry time. Each child will receive a gift as they remember God’s greatest gift to us all, his previous son Jesus. All are invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall after church for birthday cake and a time of fellowship.
Advent is a time for both remembering that Christ has come and anticipating his coming again. We remember Malachi’s prophecy concerning Christ’s ministry…
Malachi 3:3 CSB — “He will be like a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will present offerings to the LORD in righteousness.”
May the Lord guide and direct our spirits to be aligned with the will of his Holy Spirit. As we’ve been saying throughout this Advent season, God gave us his best by giving his son Jesus. Now he calls us to give our best to him. To live this way is for our good, and also for God’s glory. When humans live for God’s glory, we are living in the best way that it is possible for a human being to live. To live for anything less than this is to give up some aspect of what makes us fully and completely human. We were made for God! And now we know that as all have died in Adam, through Jesus Christ all can be made alive who are willing to place our hope in him (1 Corinthians 15:22). This gospel message is what Christmas is all about, and I hope it fills every aspect of your heart during this Christmas season.
May we continue to pray for one another. May we continue to do as 1st Corinthians 13 commands us to do; that is to bear with one another, to believe the best of one another, and to hope the best for one another. See you in the morning!
In his steps,
Pastor Nick
