Good afternoon church family,
I hope you are enjoying this beautifully rainy fall Saturday in Oklahoma. I know I am. Fall means flannel weather!
I pray that the Lord will grant you rest in him this day, and that may you take time to pause and to reflect on the Lord’s kindness toward you. He is so good and kind! We could spend all of our days and hours reflecting on him and never fully mine the riches of his grace in our lives.
Tomorrow is the Lord’s day! Join us in the morning at 9:30am for Sunday School/Prayer and at 10:45am for our weekly worship service. I am looking forward to being with you in the morning! Our focus Bible passage for tomorrow is Deuteronomy 6:20-25 as we look at Christ as our present and our future.
Tomorrow is our monthly fellowship meal day. Don’t forget to bring something to share with everyone if you plan to come to lunch. The plan is to have chili and all of our fall favorites. Taking the time to have a meal together is a wonderful way for us to grow as a family in Christ. It follows after the pattern of Jesus, who often had meals together with his disciples and with others in the community.
Tonight is the Bethany Fall Festival from 5pm-8pm. Serve Coffee will be open. Everyone who is a part of Tulakes Covenant Fellowship is welcome to come and participate. We will have some activities for kids and families as well as an opportunity to pray for people and minister to them as they come through.
Let’s continue praying for one another. I especially want to remind us to be praying for Hal Hartstock as he continues his recovery. Also be praying for Lonnie Pugh as he spent some time in the hospital this week. Pray for Ann McMillan who is recovering from shoulder surgery and Ruben Stampley who is recovering from a knee replacement. We continue to remember the Burke family as they have several medical issues going on in their family, and John’s grandmother went to be with the Lord just a couple of days ago. There are others on our prayer list as well, and as always I encourage us to pray for people as the Lord brings them to mind. Our prayers are powerful, and I am confident that the Lord hears us and that he is ready to move mountains on our behalf.
Next week the elders and deacons are going to be meeting to work out our church calendar for the next several months. There have been so many things going on as we have worked to unify every aspect of our church. We appreciate everyone’s patience during this time and we look forward to the next year. Clarity in all things will come to us as the Lord leads us. As always, if you have any questions or if you feel like something is unclear you are welcome to contact me directly or any of our elders or deacons. We are here to serve you.
May the grace and peace of the Lord be with you all. Know that you are loved and appreciated, and that I am praying for you. The Lord is doing some really wonderful things in and around our church community. I am certain that if we stay the course and keep Christ as the center of everything we are doing, we will see even more in the future.
I’m His steps,
Pastor Nick
Deuteronomy 6:25 CSB — “Righteousness will be ours if we are careful to follow every one of these commands before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.”
