Good afternoon church family,
A very happy Independence Day Weekend to you all! Tomorrow is a very special Sunday as we participate in a deacon ordination and ministry licensing together! I hope you will plan to join us in the morning. Prayer begins at 9:30am with our worship service following at 10:45am.
We will be taking a short break from our series in Revelation tomorrow as we focus on ordaining two new deacons. Our Bible texts that we will focus on is 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and Colossians 1:28-29. These texts are important for us as we consider the purpose of deacon ministry, and the purpose of our overall ministry together as a church. Paul tells us in Colossians that the aim of his ministry was to present everyone mature in Christ. We want that to be the heart of everything we do also! Concurrent to these wonderful things, we have some updates on Serve and other ministry developments which we want to share with you tomorrow. I look forward to being with you and celebrating God’s grace towards our church family. He has been so very kind to us!
Tomorrow after church, we have an opportunity to fellowship with our friends at Tulakes Baptist Church. They are hosting a 4th of July weekend lunch along with fun and games for families. We’ll provide further instructions during the service tomorrow, but if you are able and would like to come you are very welcome to do so. It will be a nice time of visiting with the people from Tulakes and a chance to see the church property there if you have not done so yet.
May the peace of Christ be with you all! We continue to pray for George and his son Josh as Josh recovers from the medical trauma he has been going through. The Lord has been working in him, and for that we are grateful. May the Lord continue to bring healing and give Josh more time in this world. Know that we are praying for each one of you. I love and appreciate you so very much. It is my absolute joy to serve as your pastor.
In His steps,
Pastor Nick
Colossians 1:28-29 CSB — “We proclaim him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. I labor for this, striving with his strength that works powerfully in me.”
