Church Update 08/08/26

Good afternoon church family,

May the grace and peace of the Lord rest on each one of you today. I look forward to being with you tomorrow as we fellowship together and worship our risen Lord Jesus. Join us for Fellowship Groups at 9:30am and for Worship Service at 10:45am.

Our focus Bible passage for tomorrow is Acts 3:11-26. We will be examining the story of how Peter boldly proclaimed the gospel following the miracle of healing that took place at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple. Peter did not hesitate, but was very clear that the miracle was a work of Christ alone. He seized the moment that was given to him by the Holy Spirit, and we can do the very same as God works through us in various ways in our world.

Prayer Needs: Let’s continue praying for Dolly Campbell, daughter of Pam and Paul Dihmes, as she continues to recover from shingles. So far it looks like her eye is doing okay, but of course it is unsettling for anyone dealing with shingles to have it so close to such a vulnerable and critical part of the body. We also continue to pray for Jeff Hayes. The family received good news. It appears that he was suffering from a bout of heat stroke and he should be okay. He will be moved to an inside job at work until he is fully recovered. We pray for his complete and total recovery. Gunnar Anderson had a minor procedure done this week and is also doing well. We pray for his complete and total recovery, as well as good results from the surgery. We continue to pray for Angela Westover as she has continued dealing with pain in her jaw. May the Lord grant her healing and complete relief. Lastly, we continue to pray for Ginger Powers’ daughter who is dealing with some major health issues. May the Lord grant her healing grace and may He be present in a special way for Ginger, bringing the peace and only He can possibly bring. Let’s also be praying for Peggy Harris as she is likely in the final days of her life in this world. The Lord is with her and she will be with Him. Pray for Roger and the rest of her family. I’m sure there are many other prayer needs in our congregation, and you’re always welcome to reach out to me, Dwight, Scott, or any of our Deacons with any prayer requests you may have. As always, I encourage us to be mindful of any way the Lord might be encouraging us to pray for one another. Often when a face pops into your head, that is your cue to pray for that person.

I pray that you will have time this evening to rest and reflect on Christ’s faithfulness toward you. Even as life can at times feel weary and bring us down, we remember that we have a living hope in Him. Our future is absolutely secure! I look forward to seeing you in the morning.

In His steps,

Pastor Nick

“And his name—by faith in his name—has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all.”
— Acts 3:16
