Happy Saturday church family,
Tomorrow is the Lord’s Day! I am looking forward to being with you as we celebrate Christ and mutually encourage one another in Him. Join us for Fellowship Groups at 9:30am and for Worship Service at 10:45. I would encourage you to reach out to friends who don’t have a church family and invite them to come. There is a place for everyone in our church family.
Our focus passage for tomorrow is Acts 2:42-47. Here the Holy Spirit gives us a practical example of what a church full of Spirit-filled people looks like. Experiencing the power of the Spirit accompanied by signs and wonders as Joel prophesied are not an end in themselves, but are a means to an end. What is that end? Chist-likeness. The greatest sign that a church has encountered God is not the outward signs themselves but the transformation that comes through it. We see in this text that a Spirit-filled church is a community devoted to Christ which is shown through their passion for the Apostles’ teaching, the breaking of bread, the fellowship, and the prayers (note the definite article used here, because it’s written that way in Scripture). We will be blessed as we examine this text with open hearts willing to move closer to Christ’s will and design for us.
May the grace and peace of Christ be with you as you walk through this day. May He grant you rest in Him, and willingness by the Spirit to be and do all that He desires for you. I love you all. See you in the morning!
In His steps,
Pastor Nick
