Good afternoon church family,
I’m looking forward to spending time with you tomorrow as we celebrate the Lord’s Day. Here are a few things to remember for tomorrow and the week ahead.
Our fellowship groups will meet at 9:30 a.m. for a time of Bible study and discipleship equipping. We have four groups currently, one focused on growing in our knowledge and awareness of the Holy Spirit with Pastor Dwight, one focused on prayer with Beth Walsh, the young adults class with Susan Kitzrow, and the youth class with Ryan Stevens. I would encourage you to join us for one of our fellowship groups, as these are a wonderful time for us to develop our relationships around the word of God and the leadership of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
At 10:45 a.m. we will gather for worship as we do each week. I encourage everyone to be praying even now for how the Lord wants to move in us and speak to our hearts tomorrow. Our focus Bible passage is Philippians 1:12-20. We will be exploring how Christ is magnified in us through our weakness, and how our true strength is found when we root our lives in him.
At 4:30 p.m. our church will be hosting a super bowl party in the youth room. All are welcome to join us for fellowship, whether you want to watch football or not. There will be a game room set up for those who just want to talk and enjoy one another’s company. You’re welcome to bring food, snacks, and drinks to share with those who will be there.
On February 14th at 10:30 a.m., our women’s ministry is hosting a get together for the ladies in our church. This will take place in the Fellowship Hall. All women and girls are welcome, and you are welcome to bring friends.
On 22nd after church we will have our monthly fellowship meal. During the meal we will also have a congregational meeting. The theme for the meal is foods that you love can we encourage everyone to bring something that you can share. There will be a chili cook off involved for anyone who is interested in bringing a pot of chili to be a part of that.
I hope that you have had a blessed Saturday and that you have enjoyed this wonderful weather we are having. May the grace and peace of the Lord be with you all. As always, I encourage you to be praying for one another, for our greater community, and for our church. I love and appreciate you all
In His steps,
Pastor Nick
Philippians 1:15-20 CSB — “To be sure, some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of good will. These preach out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel; the others proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, thinking that they will cause me trouble in my imprisonment. What does it matter? Only that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is proclaimed, and in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice because I know this will lead to my salvation through your prayers and help from the Spirit of Jesus Christ. My eager expectation and hope is that I will not be ashamed about anything, but that now as always, with all courage, Christ will be highly honored in my body, whether by life or by death.”
