Good afternoon church family,
Tomorrow is the Lord’s Day! It is a great privilege for us to gather together as His people. Join us for Fellowship Groups at 9:30am and for worship at 10:45am. All are welcome!
Our focus tomorrow will be on how we are the beloved of the Lord. For several weeks now, we have been talking about the importance of having our identity firmly rooted in Christ. It is nearly impossible to join the Lord in His work of revealing His kingdom in our world if we do not have our sense of identity properly sorted. To know that you are beloved by God, and that He would have crucified the Lord Jesus in your place if you were the only human alive, is a really big deal. It stabilizes us and focuses our heart so that we can walk with the Lord. It is our sense of identity that allows us to put aside the vanities of this world in the pursuit of Christ. I know that we will be blessed as we consider this together tomorrow.
Please continue to pray for one another. Harper continues to recover at home. Pray for her and for Stacie and Lonnie as they care for her. We received a wonderful praise report from Pam Dihmes this week. As you know, many of us have been praying fervently for her for many weeks now. She had a follow-up with her surgeon, and they now believe that there is very little, if any, damage to her colon. Previously, they thought that they were going to have to remove a significant section, but now that does not seem to be the case. I believe in the power of prayer! I have no doubt that what the doctor saw previously was legitimate, but I also have no doubt that our Lord Jesus has brought a healing grace to Pam’s body. We praise Him because we know all glory belongs to Him! There are many others in our church family who need prayer for various things. If the Lord brings someone to mind, it is very likely a prompt from the Holy Spirit to pray for that person. May we continue responding to the Lord’s leading in this way.
Join us on Wednesdays at 6:30pm for our Community Prayer Service. I believe God has called us to be a praying church. Charles Spurgeon wrote the following in his book Lectures to My Students: “The prayer-meeting is an institution which ought to be very precious to us, and always very zealously conducted by us. The prayer-meeting is the thermometer of the church.” I would love to see many of us come together to dedicate ourselves to the sacred work of prayer on Wednesday evenings.
On March 28th, we will be having a work day at the church building. There are several tasks that we would like to accomplish, and I think we will have a good time together also. We would love to have everyone there. There will be something for everyone, young and old alike.
May the grace and peace of the Lord rest upon you today. May He grant you true Sabbath rest in our Lord Jesus Christ, the author and the finisher of our faith. See you tomorrow!
In His steps,
Pastor Nick
