Church Update 01/31/26

Good afternoon church family,

I look forward to being back together in person tomorrow at Tulakes Covenant! What a wild ride this last week was. I know my family enjoyed the snow and the extra time together. I also know that we are ready to get back into our regular groove. Thankfully tomorrow is supposed to be much warmer, so we should have a beautiful day to gather together in honor of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Tomorrow is our monthly Church Breakfast, served to us by our wonderful deacon team. Come up to the building at 8:30 a.m. to enjoy this time of food and fellowship together. We so appreciate those who take the time to come early to prepare this for us!

Join us at 9:30 a.m. for Fellowship Groups, specifically designed to move us along in discipleship and equipping for ministry. There groups are intended to be biblical, relational, intentional, and practical. Our heart is that our Sunday School time would be a discipleship time. Yes, Bible study is involved but we are learning together to practice the ways of Jesus in our lives. We are actively seeking to do what James calls us to do in the Bible, to be doers of the word and not hearers only. Pastor Dwight will be facilitating a time of looking into the ministry and work of the Holy Spirit in the church while Beth Walsh will facilitate a prayer group in the next room over. Susan Kitzrow leads our Young Adult class which meets in the classroom on the West end of the Adult Education wing. Our youth will be meeting as well in the youth room. There will be donuts and coffee available in the connecting room between the two adult classrooms where we will be meeting. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

We will have our weekly worship service at 10:45 a.m. as usual. Our focus passage for tomorrow is Philippians 1:1-11. What makes a church the sort of church the Apostles would be proud of? That is the question we are asking, and the answers will set us up for success and thriving as we move forward together as a community in the Lord. I would encourage each of us to be praying, seeking after the Lord, and specifically asking for the Spirit to open our hearts to what he wants to say tomorrow.

Next Sunday at 4:30 p.m. in the youth room TCF will be hosting a super bowl party. Feel free to bring food and snacks to share with everyone, and join us for a time of fellowship and football. Even if you are not a sports fan, you can still join us. There will be other games and activities going on while those who want to watch can enjoy the game.

Here are some important dates to be aware of for the month of February…

2/14- Women’s Valentines Social, 10:30am
2/15- Elders & Deacons Meeting, 12:30pm
2/18- Ash Wednesday Service, 6:30pm
2/22- Congregational Meeting & Fellowship Meal, 12:30pm
2/27- OKC House of Worship @ Serve, 7:30pm

May the grace and peace of the Lord be with you all as you continue to enjoy this wonderful Saturday! I love and appreciate you all. I’m so very grateful for our opportunity to continue to cultivate our community together around Christ and our common passion for his gospel. I hope you will make every effort to join us in the morning. It should be a wonderful day together.

In His steps,

Pastor Nick

Philippians 1:3-5 ESV — “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”
