NCF Update 05/17/25

Good afternoon church family,

I trust that you are having a blessed Saturday. There may be storms ahead tonight, but today we have enjoyed sun and mild temps. It’s always good to pause and reflect on the kindness of God towards us, and even towards those who do not love and fear him. He sends those rays of sunlight down upon the righteous and the unrighteous alike, but we are blessed to be counted as members of His family. What a grace that is! May his warmth fill our hearts.

Tomorrow is the Lord’s Day! It is always a grace to gather together with you. We will meet at 9:30 a.m. for prayer and at 10:45 a.m. for worship. I hope that you will make plans to join us, as our coming together is a vital aspect of our good effort to love and grow in the Lord as a family of faith. I have no doubt that all who come to the gathering tomorrow will be blessed through worship, the word, the Lord’s Table, and by our ministry to one another.

Tomorrow is also our fellowship meal day. The theme is Mexican food, and all are welcome to join us. Bring something to share if you can. We will enjoy a wonderful meal together as we also share our hearts with each other. Jesus commonly ate with his disciples and with others he was connecting with, and I believe his example is instructive for us. Something special happens in our hearts when we share a meal together. I am looking forward to this time with you.

Next Saturday is the Bethany Route 66 Festival from 10am till 2pm. There will be a car show as well as other events around our building, which means many people will walk through our space. Each of these local events is an opportunity for us to connect with people, and to share the glory of Christ with them both in word and deed. We would love to have as many from our church involved as possible. Talk with me or Pastor Dwight if you’d like more details about this event.

On Sunday, June 1st, at 5pm. we will be having a combined worship and prayer night with the people of Tulakes Baptist Church at their building. We would encourage you to be there if possible. It will be a good opportunity for everyone to see the space, but more importantly to build relationships around prayer. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out.

Today we are praying for Gloria Bohn and for Rhonda Tarter as they are both recovering from surgery. Rhonda was able to go home today and is healing well. Gloria will be in the hospital over the weekend, but we thank the Lord that her surgery went well and that she is on the road to healing. We also continue to pray for Ann McMillan as she continues to undergo dialysis. May the Lord heal her and protect her.

May the grace and peace of the Lord be with you all. It will be good to see you tomorrow, and to spend time together honoring Christ and building one another up. I love and appreciate you all. See you in the morning!

In His steps,

Pastor Nick

Philippians 1:27-28 CSB — “Just one thing: As citizens of heaven, live your life worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or am absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, in one accord, contending together for the faith of the gospel, not being frightened in any way by your opponents. This is a sign of destruction for them, but of your salvation — and this is from God.”
